Arthritis (Degeneration)

If left uncorrected, joints which have been injured or subjected to unusual stress, perhaps as the result of a car accident, a heavy manual job, or sporting career will begin to show signs of “wear and tear”.

Your body adapts to uncorrected spinal trauma by depositing calcium into affected joints. The body attempts to “repair” the malfunctioning spinal joint by joining the two segments together. This slow, relentless process is called degeneration. This degenerative process worsens with time. If neglected or simply ignored, this condition quietly progresses, often times without obvious symptoms.

With time, tendons and ligaments holding the joint together get weaker and the joint itself may become deformed, painful and stiff. When the joint becomes painful and inflamed it is called arthritis.

Since I began treatment, I can now walk without pain. I cannot begin to tell you how flexible my body feels – no more stiffness. I no longer take pain killers. I was relieved of all the pain that I was feeling. My body has improved tremendously.

Chiropractic Can Help

Chiropractic care can help keep degenerative joints healthy and mobile, reducing pain and stiffness, and helping to slow further “wear and tear”. Although degenerative changes in joints cannot normally be reversed, regular chiropractic care can help prevent the healthy spinal joints from going down the same path. Degenerative changes make the spinal column more susceptible to damage. Regular chiropractic adjustments can improve movement and reduce the stresses that may cause pain in the future.
